Quooker Taps in our Bespoke Handmade Kitchens

At The Handmade Kitchen Company, we are extremely pleased to be able to supply and install the Quooker boiling tap in your handmade kitchen. The Quooker boiling tap is a true revolution in the home. It was invented by Dutch physicist Henri Peteri, who had the idea in 1970 while working at Unilever, when a presentation about instant soup made him realise what was really missing: instant boiling water. Peteri was granted a patent in 1972 and built his first tap, with a push button and a built-in tank, in 1974. The company was founded in 1987 by Henri and his son Niels Peteri, and the first Quooker, the Basic, was introduced in 1992. Since then the range has grown to include models such as the Fusion, a boiling water and mixer tap in one, the Flex, with a flexible pull-out hose, and the Classic collection, an all-round tap to suit many homes and lifestyles. More recently, the Quooker CUBE was released, dispensing sparkling and filtered water straight from the tap. It is a great step forward in helping the environment and saving money in the long run, as it has been designed to remove the need to purchase bottled water. Quooker has transformed the way people use water in their kitchen, making everyday tasks quicker, safer, and more energy-efficient. Its history is a testament to the power of innovation, and just one idea has had a huge impact on the entire industry. In this blog, we will look at some of our kitchen projects including the instant hot water taps and how they fit within the design and layout. We hope we can give you a starting base when it comes to designing your kitchen with a Quooker tap.

Quooker Tap FAQs
What is a Quooker tap?
A Quooker is a tap that delivers 100°C boiling water instantly from a small, insulated tank under the sink. It does away with the kettle, saving worktop space and time, and many models also provide filtered and mixed hot and cold water.
Are Quooker taps safe?
Yes. The boiling-water function uses a child-safe push-and-turn action so it cannot be turned on by accident, and the tap and hose are insulated. That is why so many of our clients are happy to have one as the family kitchen tap.
What Quooker models are there?
The range includes the Fusion (a boiling and mixer tap in one), the Flex (with a flexible pull-out hose), the Classic collection and the Nordic styles, in finishes from stainless steel to patinated brass, gold and chrome, so there is one to suit both traditional and contemporary kitchens.
Can a Quooker tap dispense chilled and sparkling water?
Yes, by adding the Quooker CUBE. It connects to the tap and provides chilled, filtered still and sparkling water, removing the need for bottled water. We have fitted the CUBE in several of the projects above.
Where can I get a Quooker tap fitted?
We are authorised Quooker dealers and build the full range into our bespoke kitchens, designed and hand-built from our workshop in Essex for clients across Essex, Hertfordshire and North London.
