Hand-built cabinetry doesn't have to stop at the kitchen door. For over 25 years, The Handmade Kitchen Company has been designing, building and installing bespoke furniture for the rest of the home: utility rooms, boot rooms, walk-in wardrobes, wine rooms and cellars, home offices, media walls and outdoor kitchens.
Each room is hand-built in our Essex workshop using the same time-honoured construction, hand-painted finishes and premium hardware as our kitchens. Designed in our Bishop's Stortford showroom, your other-room furniture can match your kitchen seamlessly, or stand confidently on its own.

Yes. While our roots are in kitchens, we now hand-build bespoke cabinetry for utility rooms, boot rooms, dressing rooms, walk-in wardrobes, bedrooms, wine rooms and cellars, home offices, media walls and outdoor kitchens, using the same workshop, joiners and finishes.
Yes. We can use the same door style, paint colour, hardware and worktop materials so that your utility room, boot room or media wall reads as part of the same family of cabinetry as your kitchen. We can equally design each room as a stand-alone piece if you prefer.
No. We are happy to design and install stand-alone projects, including media walls, dressing rooms, wine rooms and home offices, even where the kitchen is not being changed.
Our Bridgers Barn showroom is in Great Hallingbury near Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire. We regularly install across Essex, Hertfordshire and north London, with occasional projects further afield in Cambridge and the wider Home Counties.
