Luxury Bespoke Kitchens in St Albans
Our bespoke kitchen design service starts with an initial meeting at our showroom in Bishop's Stortford. We are proud of all our designs being 'truly bespoke' which ensures your kitchen is designed around your space and personal requirements.
Our designers will talk you through all of the options available to you, including the furniture construction and appearance, materials, hardware and appliances.
What does bespoke mean to us?
A bespoke kitchen features an unrestricted design, with a choice of materials, styles, finishes, colour and design elements, all centred around your own personal requirements. Common challenges faced by our clients, for example by the property's walls, listed status or others can only be overcome by a truly bespoke kitchen.
‘Bespoke’ is an inappropriately overused term, but with The Handmade Kitchen Company, Bespoke means: that together we can create your dream kitchen, which is truly unique in the world.

What Our Clients Say
Bespoke Kitchens for St Albans and the Surrounding Villages
St Albans is one of the most architecturally rich cities in Hertfordshire, with Roman Verulamium and the medieval Cathedral giving way to Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and modern family streets. We design, hand-build and install bespoke kitchens for clients across St Albans (AL1, AL2, AL3, AL4) and the surrounding villages, including Bricket Wood, Park Street, Sandridge, London Colney, Redbourn, Markyate and Childwickbury, as well as the neighbouring areas of Harpenden and Wheathampstead.
Our showroom in Bishop's Stortford is around 50 minutes' drive from St Albans, easiest via the M11, M25 and A1(M). Every kitchen is hand-built in our Essex workshop and installed by our own kitchen fitters, who are time-served joiners.
St Albans Kitchen FAQs
Do you design kitchens in St Albans and the surrounding villages?
Yes. We design and install bespoke kitchens across St Albans and the surrounding villages, including Bricket Wood, Park Street, Sandridge, London Colney, Redbourn, Markyate, Childwickbury, Harpenden and Wheathampstead.
How far is your showroom from St Albans?
Our Bishop's Stortford showroom is approximately 50 minutes' drive from St Albans, via the M11, M25 and A1(M). Visits are by appointment, after which we travel to your home for a no-obligation design consultation.
How long does a bespoke kitchen take from design to installation?
Most projects run from initial consultation to fitted installation in around 16 to 20 weeks, depending on the design complexity and any building work involved. The cabinetry is hand-built to order in our Essex workshop, then delivered and installed by our own joiners across St Albans and the wider area.
What kitchen styles work well in St Albans homes?
For period townhouses around the Cathedral and conservation streets, our classic in-frame and traditional shaker styles sit most naturally with the original detailing. For Victorian and Edwardian streets and modern family homes in Bricket Wood, Park Street and the new estates, the handleless Mapesbury style and our contemporary shaker designs are popular. We tailor the cabinetry, finish and detailing to the architecture of your home.
