Sub-Zero's Classic Series: The Iconic Look Reimagined

The iconic Sub-Zero look, reimagined
took its Classic refrigeration collection and reimagined it with fresh features and a timeless design. Inside and out, a Sub-Zero looks and feels high quality, with sleek stainless accents trimming the interior to match the sophistication of the exterior. Each product is built with premium-grade materials, and Sub-Zero products are designed to last a minimum of 20 years. Sub-Zero & Wolf has been leading the line in home refrigeration and cooking since 1945. Their appliances are meticulously crafted and expertly engineered, bringing professional quality to the home.
The Sub-Zero Classic Series at a Glance
The Classic Series is Sub-Zero's original and most recognisable refrigeration range, with its distinctive stainless steel exterior and framed styling, designed to be seen rather than concealed behind cabinetry panels. The reimagined version brought four notable changes: the Split Climate intelligent cooling system, which uses a variable speed compressor and two fans to hold temperature within a degree of the set point; a touch control panel for lighting and humidity; stainless steel accents on the interior; and ClearSight LED lighting that reduces shadows. Sub-Zero build their products to last a minimum of 20 years. At Handmade Kitchen Company we design bespoke cabinetry around Sub-Zero refrigeration.
A little history
The company was founded by Westye F. Bakke in the basement of his home in Madison, Wisconsin, where he had moved with his family to start a new life. He built his first freestanding freezer, and that invention kick-started a series of pioneering creations and led to the birth of the Sub-Zero Freezer Company. There are many friends of Sub-Zero & Wolf: a collection of chefs, restaurateurs, critics, sommeliers and growers who all share one thing in common, a passion for food. Every kitchen we produce is the culmination of our client's inspiration, entwined with our design-led philosophy and time-honoured manufacturing techniques, resulting in truly bespoke furniture. Imagine our finest cabinetry sitting alongside an iconic Sub-Zero refrigerator.
Timeless design and fresh features
Split Climate intelligent cooling system
The Split Climate intelligent cooling system revolutionises Sub-Zero's already superior preservation capabilities, keeping food fresher for longer thanks to a variable speed compressor and two fans that consistently optimise the refrigerator temperature to within 1 degree of the set point.
Touch control panel
With the touch control panel, settings from lighting to humidity can easily be customised with a tap, from a conveniently accessible position.
Stainless accents
Sleek stainless steel accents trim the interior, matching the sophistication of the exterior.
ClearSight LED lighting
The ClearSight LED lighting scheme fully illuminates the interior and reduces shadows, adding light where it is needed most: overhead, under each shelf and in each crisper drawer.
Sub-Zero Classic Series FAQs
What is the Sub-Zero Classic Series?
The Classic Series is Sub-Zero's original and most recognisable refrigeration range, with a stainless steel exterior and distinctive framed styling. Unlike the fully integrated Designer Series, it is designed to be seen as a feature rather than concealed behind cabinetry panels.
What is the difference between the Classic and Designer Series?
Classic keeps the recognisable stainless steel exterior on show. The
is fully integrated, taking cabinetry panels that match your kitchen so the appliance disappears into the run of furniture. The internal technology across both is broadly comparable.
How long does a Sub-Zero last?
Sub-Zero design their products to last a minimum of 20 years, which is considerably longer than a standard domestic refrigerator, and is one of the main reasons they are specified in high-end kitchens.
What is Split Climate cooling?
It is Sub-Zero's dual cooling approach, using a variable speed compressor and two fans to hold the refrigerator within a degree of the set temperature. Steadier temperature means slower spoilage and food that keeps its condition for longer.
