Luxury Bespoke Kitchens in Reading
Our bespoke kitchen design service starts with an initial meeting at our showroom in Bishop's Stortford. We are proud of all our designs being 'truly bespoke' which ensures your kitchen is designed around your space and personal requirements.
Our designers will talk you through all of the options available to you, including the furniture construction and appearance, materials, hardware and appliances.
What does bespoke mean to us?
A bespoke kitchen features an unrestricted design, with a choice of materials, styles, finishes, colour and design elements, all centred around your own personal requirements. Common challenges faced by our clients, for example by the property's walls, listed status or others can only be overcome by a truly bespoke kitchen.
‘Bespoke’ is an inappropriately overused term, but with The Handmade Kitchen Company, Bespoke means: that together we can create your dream kitchen, which is truly unique in the world.

Reading Kitchen FAQs
Do you design kitchens in Reading and the surrounding villages?
Yes. We design and install bespoke kitchens across Reading and the surrounding Berkshire villages, including Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, Woodley, Calcot, Sonning and Pangbourne.
How far is your showroom from Reading?
Our Bishop's Stortford showroom is approximately 95 minutes' drive from Reading, via the M25 and M4. We recommend booking a showroom appointment so a designer is ready for you, after which we follow up with a no-obligation home consultation in Reading.
How long does a bespoke kitchen take from design to installation?
Most projects run from initial consultation to fitted installation in around 16 to 20 weeks, depending on the design complexity and any building work involved. The cabinetry is hand-built to order in our Essex workshop, then delivered and installed by our own joiners across Reading and the wider Thames Valley.
What kitchen styles work well in Reading homes?
For Edwardian and Victorian streets around the town centre and Caversham, our classic in-frame and traditional shaker styles sit most naturally with the period detailing. For modern family homes in Tilehurst, Earley, Woodley and the new developments, the handleless Mapesbury style and our contemporary shaker designs are popular. We tailor the cabinetry, finish and detailing to the architecture of your home.
